Your gran sounds like she would have gotten along with mine. She also drank and cheated at cards. As for throwing the wine, she's my hero. I had a chance to throw a drink at someone and didn't, and it is literally one of my biggest regrets. My ex came up to me and my fiance at a bar to "congratulate" us on our engagement, and we were with a bunch of other people who all said, "Now, Kate, be nice, it's a special occasion and he's trying to do the right thing" because they knew I hadn't spoken to the motherfucker/rapist in years. So I just looked away and pretended he wasn't there, when I wanted to throw the drink. Now I always tell young people, THROW THAT DRINK. In his face, in his lap, poured over his head, crack the glass over it for good measure, steal the pitcher of beer from the next table and buy them a new one, but by all means there will be drink thrown. Also, my dad had polio toward the end of when that was still a thing, a decade before I was born, so you can bet your ass I'm vaccinated for everything.
Brendan, you know most of your readers are already vaccinated, and that's a good thing, but also a shame because this might turn one or two. I hope it does if there are any out there.

Thanks for all the entertainment you managed to just pull out of thin air during this whole shitty pandemic. Several podcasts, this blog, the War on Xmas stream, and, of course, all the years of recordings I was able to hole up with down in the basement.
